Obesity Prevention

Obesity is a disease of the present generation. What are some of the repercussions of this terrible epidemic? What about all the children that are innocent in this terrible tragedy? Have we completely lost sight of what this means for the future? Do we realize how important we need to act instead of just talking?
Childhood-Obesity-Does Low Self-Esteem and External Control in Childhood Predict Adult Obesity?
Their can be only one answer to this question and studies have shown that, yes, low self esteem and external control in childhood is and can predict adult obesity.
What can we do to turn this tide around you ask?
Education, starting at home with all parents needing to acknowledge their responsibilities.
Parents need to learn how to eat right and then by example only, can they start teaching their kids how to eat better and stop this epidemic.
We need to involve Gym owners into becoming teachers instead of sellers. They need to open their facilities and enroll parents into classes to teach them how to eat right and then introducing physical exercising benefits for the whole family. Eating right first and foremost, exercise only when the weight is under control. The gym's are all over the world, let's get the ball rolling and stop talking and get to work.
Is anybody listening to ordinary people?
If you are an obese parent with obese or overweight children, don't you see what is sitting at your supper table today? This is all your doing and you can't deny it.
What scares parents the most seems to be the inability to take charge. I dispute this by saying that their inability to understand what they should be telling their kids is the biggest problem. Most of us did not learn and still today need to be taught about eating properly. The system has failed to teach us some basics at school and parents are the ones that need to learn. Only their good example will encourage kids to follow.
Food for thought.
